Qatar Career Development Center (QCDC) has invited high school students to participate in their Career Village initiative, which takes place at the Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) Student Center on April 26 – 27, from 9am to 2pm.

Career Village brings together representatives from leading Qatar-based corporations and institutions from numerous industries including education, finance, business, energy, manufacturing, communications, health, municipality, environment, media and military. The event aims to instill a strong career culture among Qatari high school students and to familiarize them with the dynamics and challenges of Qatar’s labor market in addition to introducing them to career fields that enable them to best serve their country.

The first day of the event will be dedicated to male students while female students will be welcomed on the second day. Parents as well as career and academic counselors from independent schools across Qatar are invited to attend both days.

Mr. Abdullah Al Mansoori, Director of QCDC, said: “Career Village plays an important role in introducing students to new career paths and academic programs. Students can engage with participating institutions and universities to inquire about available opportunities and take part in activities organized by those institutions to familiarize themselves with career options.”

Organizations participating in Career Village include Qatar Airways, Qatar Rail, Qatar News Agency, National Bank of Qatar, Qatar Banking Studies and Business Administration Independent School, Hamad Medical Corporation, RasGas, Center for Geographic Information Systems at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment, Qatar Media Corporation, Ministry of Interior, General Authority of Customs, Ooredoo Telecom Company, Texas A&M University at Qatar, College of the North Atlantic-Qatar, Qatar Biobank, Career Services Center at Qatar University, INJAZ Qatar, Permanent Committee for Drugs and Alcohol Affairs, Qatar Scientific Club, and Total.

Career Village is one of several initiatives organized by QCDC, a member of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF), to guide Qatari youth into making informed decisions that reflect positively on their academic and professional futures.
