Work Integration Program for People with Disabilities

4:00 pm - 7:00 pm Multaqa, Education City - Conference Room 1 – TV Room

Overview

The Workforce Integration Program for People with Disabilities is a practice-based training pathway developed by Qatar Career Development Center (QCDC), founded by Qatar Foundation (QF), in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Development and Family. The program targets high school graduates with disabilities who are seeking employment and provides a structured series of interactive workshops, hands-on exercises, and tailored guidance designed around their specific needs. It helps participants enhance employability skills, build confidence, and identify their career directions, while offering practical support for job applications. This initiative forms part of QCDC’s broader commitment to inclusive employment and ensuring equitable access to opportunities for youth of all backgrounds, including people with disabilities.

Objectives

  • Prepare participants for workforce integration: equip them with core employability and transferable soft skills such as communication, teamwork, and time management, enabling confident entry into the labor market.
  • Build confidence and positive workplace engagement: introduce self-advocacy techniques and strengthen participants’ belief in their abilities to act constructively in work environments.
  • Foster independence and contribution: empower young adults with disabilities to pursue career independence and contribute to Qatar’s economy.
  • Bridge skills to market needs: deliver guided, hands-on training and practical experience that connect participants’ abilities with current labor market requirements.
  • Support national inclusion efforts: advance Qatar’s human development goals by expanding equitable access and creating inclusive employment pathways.

Target Groups

  • High school graduates with disabilities aged 18 and above who are preparing to enter the workforce.
  • Awareness efforts also extend to families, caregivers, career counselors, employers, and HR professionals.
