Qatar Career Development Center (QCDC), founded by Qatar Foundation (QF), is organizing the sixth edition of its highly acclaimed ‘My Career- My Future’ program. The program is scheduled to take place from 4-8 August 2024, and all high school students in Qatar are invited to participate.

‘My Career-My Future’ has established itself as a mainstay initiative for QCDC given its substantial importance and remarkable impact. Aimed at providing high school students with the opportunity to explore a multitude of industries and work environments across Qatar, the program stimulates creativity and nurtures self-reliance among students by giving them the chance to experience a real work environment at a participating organization of their choice. This invaluable experience will equip them with insights into the different careers within these organizations, the requisite skills for each career, and a realistic understanding of what to expect in their respective fields.

The program provides a range of organizations for students to choose from, which in turn offer hands-on experience across numerous disciplines, including but not limited to, Medicine, Media and Communications, Telecommunications, Business, Financial Services, Tourism, Engineering, Technology, Humanitarian and Social Work, and more.

Program Agenda

The program will be held exclusively in Arabic over five days from 4-8 August 2024, from 8:00am to 12:00pm, with a briefing session for participating students at Multaqa (Education City Student Center), where they will receive an introduction to the program and its general rules and will meet with representatives from the participating organizations. On the following three days, participants will join the organization of their choice to gain firsthand experience of the work environment. On the final day of the program, students will come together to commemorate the culmination of their journey, celebrating the successful conclusion of the program and reflecting on its outcomes in the closing ceremony set to be held on 8 August 2024, 11:00am- 1:00pm.

They will also be offered an invaluable opportunity to acquaint themselves with the various universities in Qatar. Representatives from these universities will be present to provide comprehensive information about their academic programs, offer insights on available majors, clarify application and admission requirements, and provide valuable guidance to help students prepare for their future academic pursuits. This interaction promises to equip students with a wealth of knowledge as they embark on their educational journeys.

In addition, QCDC will host competitions on the closing day to further enhance the excitement of the program for all participants. These competitions are designed to encourage students to delve deeper into the careers and professions they choose to get acquainted with, and to inspire them to further explore their interests and potentials. There will be rewards for these competitions, which will be announced at the closing ceremony.

All students who successfully complete the program will receive a participation certificate outlining the number of work hours they have completed at the participating organizations.
