Background:
The Career Counselors Hub (CCH) 2023 is the result of the exceptional collaboration among key entities committed to advancing career counseling and development in the State of Qatar. This initiative, jointly orchestrated by Qatar Career Development Center (QCDC), founded by Qatar Foundation (QF), the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MOEHE), and the U.S. Embassy Doha, underscores a profound commitment to the educational and professional well-being of the nation’s students.
This year’s gathering, which will take place from September 26-27 at Multaqa, Education City, aims to empower career counselors throughout Qatar, by bringing together influential stakeholders to create a unique and comprehensive platform for knowledge exchange and professional growth. Since its inception, the Hub has consistently upheld its reputation as a premier learning and networking venue for career practitioners.
Program:
In recognition of the dynamic and ever-evolving field of career guidance in Qatar, this year’s edition acknowledges the importance of enhancing the skills and knowledge of those shaping the future of Qatar’s youth. It serves as a major nexus for career practitioners in Qatar, facilitating the exchange of best practices, innovative ideas, and collaborative strategies among a diverse and representative cross-section of the career counseling community.
To achieve its goals, the event employs a rich set of activities including workshops and presentations in Arabic and English. These sessions will delve into crucial topics and emerging trends, ensuring that career counselors remain at the forefront of their profession.
In addition to theoretical learning, the Hub allows counselors to acquire tangible tools, resources, and insights that they can immediately apply in their daily interactions with students. Highlights:
Day 1, September 26: The first day will commence with opening remarks by the Director of QCDC and representatives of the MOEHE and the U.S. Embassy Doha. Following the opening remarks, counselor training sessions and workshops on various topics in both English and Arabic will be conducted from 8:30am to 1:30pm. A networking exhibition from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm will bring together local universities, government institutions, and educational institutes for networking purposes. Afterward, the training sessions will resume.
Day 2, September 27: Extending the focus from the previous day, the second day will run from 7:30am to 1:30pm and will be entirely dedicated to counselor training sessions and workshops on various topics in both English and Arabic.
Day 3, September 28: In collaboration with Education City partner universities, the event extends its partnership to invite attendees to the 2023 Doha Counselors Day on Thursday, September 28, 2023, from 8:30am to 1:30pm at Multaqa, Education City.The event aims to provide school counselors and administrators in Qatar with a comprehensive understanding of the academic offerings and admissions processes of the universities located within the Education City. It serves as a significant networking opportunity for counselors and university admissions professionals to come together and exchange best practices.
