Overview

Career Village is Qatar’s largest interactive career exploration and edutainment event organized by Qatar Career Development Center (QCDC), founded by Qatar Foundation (QF), in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, the Ministry of Labour, and the Civil Service and Government and Development Bureau. It gives secondary school students a chance to experience the world of work while they are still making the academic choices that will shape their future. Through practical activities and conversations with professionals, students can discover careers they may not have considered, explore their interests, and better understand what different professions involve.

Now in its seventh edition, the Village will take place from 28 to 30 September 2026 at KidZania Doha. Over three days, organizations from across Qatar will share insights into their sectors and help students understand the routes into different professions.

Target Audiance

Career Village is designed primarily for secondary school students in Qatar’s public and private schools as they consider their options for further study and future careers.

Academic and career counselors, educators, and career development practitioners are also key participants. The event gives them direct access to sector expertise and career information to support the guidance they provide to students.

Objectives

In its sixth edition, Career Village will bring together over 30 leading public and private entities spanning Qatar’s key governmental, economic, productive, and service sectors—covering Security, Public Administration, Aviation and Aeronautics, Technology, Education, Energy and Utilities, Manufacturing and Retail, Transportation and Logistics, Medicine, Humanitarian and Social Work, Media, as well as Hospitality and Tourism.

Our primary objectives include:

  • Equipping students with practical skills and knowledge essential for Qatar’s evolving labor market. Through hands-on exposure to various industries, students are empowered to make informed academic and career decisions that support national development goals.
  • Engaging and educating career service providers on the breadth of career opportunities and pathways available to youth. This promotes evidence-based guidance and informed counseling to help students navigate their future pathways effectively.
  • Offering high school students in-depth personalized career guidance through interactive counseling sessions with industry professionals. These engagements deepen their understanding of career development services and potential career paths ahead of them.
  • Creating a platform for students, educators, and industry professionals to network and collaborate. This fosters meaningful connections and provides students with direct access to career resources, including training, counseling, volunteering, and internship opportunities—supporting a seamless transition from education to the workforce.

 

Event Details

Date and Time:

The event will take place over three days, from 28 to 30 September 2026, between 8am and 12pm (Note: the event is exclusively open to pre-registered school visits).

Activities:

Students can explore professions across more than 13 vital sectors, including education, finance and business, industry, energy, security, media and communication, and public administration and government. Activities include:

  • Engaging Booths: Students will have the chance to visit the booths of the participating organizations and meet with professionals from diverse industries. These engagements offer students valuable insights into various professions and work requirements, helping them make well-informed decisions about their future careers.
  • Experiential Learning Zones: Hands-on activities and simulations offering a firsthand experience of different career paths, facilitating experiential learning and deeper career exploration.
  • Workshops and Interactive Sessions: Exhibitors at Career Village will deliver a diverse slate of interactive workshops and sessions—ranging from soft skills development and work values to cutting-edge career trends and industry-specific insights. These sessions aim to equip students with essential life skills while also introducing school and career counselors to innovative concepts and approaches in the field of career development and guidance.
  • Career Guidance Conversations: Students speak with professionals and career practitioners about potential pathways and the support available to help them plan their next steps.


Day 3 Panel Discussion

Beyond the Field: Diverse Career Pathways in the Military Sector

On 30 September 2026, the Village will host a panel discussion to explore careers across the military and security sectors, including engineering, medicine, law, cybersecurity, emerging technologies, and operations. Speakers will share their educational and career journeys and discuss opportunities for Qatari talent, the skills and personal qualities needed to succeed, and how attracting specialized talent strengthens institutional capabilities.

Moderated by QCDC’s Senior Career Development Specialist, Hamad Ali Al-Badr, the session will feature representatives of the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, and other relevant stakeholders.
