Winter Career Camp 2018

Qatar Career Development Center (QCDC), a member of the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF), will host the fourth edition of its Winter Career Camp 2018, which is intended for secondary school students from across the country. The camp aims to instill the basics of a strong career culture in secondary school students, and help them discover their skills and talents that will allow them to carefully choose their future career. The camp will provide students with an edutainment experience through which they will acquire multiple soft and life skills in an easy and entertaining manner.
Workshops and Training Programs
The one-week camp will offer a variety of stimulating workshops and training programs designed to raise awareness of the importance of academic and career guidance among participants and equip them with the practical skills to succeed. Students will participate in workshops on decision making, problem solving and creative thinking, which will bolster their personal skills, build their confidence and instill a spirit of entrepreneurship, perseverance and teamwork among participants.
Site Visits and Job Shadowing
The camp also offers opportunities for site visits to leading organizations in Qatar, allowing students to gain first-hand insights into the jobs at these organizations and to know the extent to which these jobs match their skills and potentials and what to expect from each profession. This year’s camp will focus on tourism, transportation, culture and media.
Introduction to Universities in Qatar
The camp will introduce students to universities in Qatar including Qatar University, Hamad Bin Khalifa University and Education City’s universities among others. Representatives of these universities will be hosted on the final day of the camp to provide students an overview of the academic programs and admission requirements at these universities, which will help students make informed academic choices and prepare for the university life.
All students who successfully complete the program will be awarded participation certificates.
Participation Requirements
- The applicant must be a secondary school student (10th – 11th Grade)
- The applicant must pay a registration fee of QR1500
Registration fees are reduced to QR 1000 in case of early registration before 26 December 2017 or if more than one child is registered.
Registrations Steps
Registration for Winter Career Camp 2018 is open online through QCDC website. Registration will open from 26 November to 26 January 2018. To ensure your participation and guarantee your seats in the Winter Camp, please register at your earliest convenience. Seats are limited and can only be secured by paying the registration fee.
